MATH 430: Algebraic Number Theory

Written Homework
There will be weekly written homework. There will be a combination of presentations and written work. Details to be explained in class.
Textbook
Algebraic Number Fields by Gerald J. Janusz
There will also be notes from class posted regularly. Will will cover roughly the first, second, and fourth chapters of Janusz.
Prerequisites
Math 436 and 437 or equivalent.
Exams and Grading
Your grade for the course will be based on your performance on the take-home exams and homework. The homework, midterm exam, and final exam will count 1/3 each. We will set the dates for these in class once I have more information about what is most convenient for people.

College Credit-Hour Policy
This course follows the College credit hour policy for four-credit courses. This course meets 3 academic hours per week. Students may also be expected to deepen their understanding of the course material through close examination/evaluation of the readings assigned in the course.
