Notes on Heaviside's method for partial fractions

Heaviside's method of solving for the constants in a partial fraction is not mentioned by name in Stewart, although it is discussed briefly in the Note on page 495 and in the margin of page 496 (pages 487 and 488 of the 7th edition, pages 476 and 477 of the 6th edition, pages 498 and 499 of the 5th edition). Some of the links below refer to it as the "coverup method."
